Digital Restoration and Reproduction

When conservation treatment of a very unstable artifact is not advisable and even careful handling of the object is deemed to be detrimental, it may be appropriate to preserve the visual information contained in the original object by means of digital reformatting and/or archival reproduction.

NAC offers high resolution scanning/digital capture of archival artifacts for their conversion to digital formats, which can be restored using advanced photo-editing software.

Conservation-quality printed reproductions may be produced in-house from the digital files.
